We have just had a second order of windows installed by William Richards and are just as impressed as we were in September 2024 with our first order. This company is second to none, their craftsmanship is outstanding and all the people who work there are a pleasure to deal with and an absolute credit to this company. We have had 10 windows in total and all fittings have gone smoothly with not a single hiccup. Beautiful job...5 star!!!!
William Richards Sash Windows are an exemplary company, they did an absolutely 5 star job from start to finish on our sash windows, they are absolutely perfect. The initial consultation was perfect in terms of being made easy to understand, and at every point our questions were answered. The installation was smooth and without anything problematic, the fitters are extremely capable tradesmen with a wealth of experience,they treated our home with the utmost respect at all times.The fitters were also very polite and courteous towards us as customers and did everything in their power to answer any queries we may have had. In summary, the whole process was a pleasure ,we have nothing but praise for a job well done. Our beautiful sash windows compliment our home so well, and truly reflect its Georgian listed status.

Great quality
Great quality - they have now replaced all the sliding sashes in our early Victorian house in two instalments, including repairs to original frames and bay window woodwork. The quality is first rate and the standard of workmanship excellent. The installers (particularly Jordan who carried out the majority of the work) were a pleasure to have around and nothing was too much trouble. They left the house immaculately clean and tidy. Would highly recommend.

Sash windows restored/replaced
I’ve recently had all of my Sash windows replaced/repaired and the quality and finish is amazing. The guys working on site were lovely and my kids were sad to see them leave at the end of the job. Now the windows are in it is like a different house, so much warmer and draft free. Highly recommend.

New Sash windows
Very happy with this company. Great team from the salesman to the surveyor David,( who answered any email questions almost by return whatever day or time, to the excellent CRAFTSMAN fitter Adrain, who took incredible care and often missed lunch due to being so professional and in the zone when fitting the sash’s. Very clean and trustworthy worker. The lead time was quite long but delivery and fitting was ahead of expectations and I was kept well informed by head office prior to fitting. Lovely quality and tidy job .

Faultless experience
Excellent craftsmanship, great communication throughout the project, and skilled fitters. They treated our very modest Victorian terrace with respect and it was a pleasure to have them in the house. We’re really encouraged that companies like this still exist.

We were a bit worried as we live in a…
We were a bit worried as we live in a listed Victorian house. All our worries were unfounded as Paul made sure there was no extra dust or dirt in the house as he covered every space where he worked and also the entrance to the house. The work was first class and we are very pleased and happy to recommend William Richards. There was also an excellent choice of window furniture which meant we could match the new windows with the old ones.

William Richard’s Deliver a professional bespoke service.
William Richard’s have just fitted seven beautiful bespoke windows in our Cottage and I can honestly say from initial appointment through to installation this company has been excellent. If you are looking to use a professional company with superb craftsmanship, then William Richard’s is the company to use. The fitters were also a great group of guys, and were a pleasure to have in our home whilst the job was being carried out. Thank you all.

Replacement windows in grade listed house
After researching getting our two sash windows replaced we went with William Richards Sash Windows and have got to say they have been brilliant from start to finish. They talked us through what would work best and explained what they would do. They have stayed in touch throughout the whole process giving us regular updates. Paul, who fitted the windows, has done a fantastic job and worked very hard after discovering an unexpected issue after taking out the one window. He also made sure all the furniture was covered and kept the areas tidy. We've had some lovely comments from neighbours and passers-by. A big thank you to Paul, Kieran and Ryan for making a big job not so daunting.

New windows for an old house
We had a mixture or replacement and refurbished windows for our old, 3 storey red brick Shropshire farmhouse from Richard Williams Sash Windows. The company was realistic and honest in terms of delivery times and kept us informed of changes if necessary. They were helpful with design and flexible with refurbishment versus replacement of windows. They had a pleasant and tidy team of in-house fitters. The design of the windows replaced is in keeping with the originals of our old house and the quality is good. No draughts and the house is much warmer! I would definitely use RWSW again and recommend the company to others.

Great expierience
After some research and several quotes, we chose William Richards to refurbish a number of our sash windows and also completely replace some large casement windows. The ordering process was great, with personal attention, several site visits and good levels of detail. We particularly liked the quote PDF’s, which clearly showed the window styles, cost breakdowns and other important details. It was super clear from the outset that there would be a wait of around 5 months. William Richards communicated regularly and let us know the order was on track – ultimately they came to fit the windows exactly on time, which is really helpful when you’re managing a large project. The fitting team were great and highly skilled, very tidy and super nice to have around the house. The quality of the windows is fantastic and we couldn’t be happier. We had a couple of small snagging issues, which were dealt with within a couple of days. Overall a great experience and one we’d recommend to anyone looking for high quality timber windows. We will be re-ordering in the future from William Richards.

Excellent service from start to end
An excellent job from start to finish from WRSW. They were very informative and clear in the quote process, the most cost effective and then super supportive through the planning process (which was tricky due to it being a Grade II listed building). My mother (owner of the house) is in her 'prime' these days and so patience and understanding was required, which was given by everyone involved. The communication was also excellent and timescales given realistic. Finally the implementation of the windows was excellent and had to be due to the age of the house. Overall thoroughly recommend.

Refurbed windows
We needed several of our wood sash windows refurbished. The difference with heat retention and noise reduction is so noticeable. The guys were great and were really helpful in explaining things to us. Also, they let us watch what they were doing so we can continue to look after our very old but still in good nick sash windows. Had a really positive experience and would recommend the company to others.

Amazing job done!!
William Richards provided an exemplary service from the initial visit, quotation and the standard of work that was carried out. The polite and charming man was respectful of the house, was knowledgeable and did a first class job on 2 very beautiful bay windows that were in serious need of TLC. The renovation ensured that the original windows remained in place and was significantly more cost effective compared to the replacement of the bay windows which without doubt would have lost some of the charm. I would not hesitate to recommend this team and would certainly use them again with hesitating. Thank you Dena (Derbyshire)

Great windows, very good service
We are very pleased with our recent window installation by William Richards. The quality of the windows is very good; they have already made a noticeable difference to the warmth of the rooms. Paul, the fitter, was excellent. We appreciated his attention to detail and determination to get things right. Very good customer service throughout. We are already planning the second phase of our installation programme.

Excellent job from start to finish
Excellent job from start to finish I was very happy with the work William Richards Sash Windows (WRSW) recently undertook. Over the course of the installation I found Zac, Jordon and Paul very easy to have around the house. This also includes Ryan with the follow-up visit. Whenever I rang the office the call itself and outcomes were easy and positive. From initial contact with Robin and Kieran last year to final completion everything including addressing necessary alterations has been very smooth and stress free. The almost immediate assistance with disability related accessibility issues in regards to the sash windows was especially helpful and seemed to be unique to WRSW when making inquiries about quotes with other companies. A number of people have commented positively on the windows and I have and will continue to give WRSW contact details to people who ask about them.

Brilliant service
From start to finish the service by the whole team at WRSW was brilliant. We have quite a bit of work done to our home during the past year, and Rik, Ryan and the team are the tidiest workmen ever! We are really pleased with the finished job, our windows are now no longer rattling and draughty.

"Our new windows and door are absolutely amazing! We were quite worried about trusting anyone with our period property after previous bad experiences but we need not have been concerned. Paul and Jordan did an incredible job. Paul made sure all the work was of the highest standard and the craftsmanship of the windows and doors is brilliant. Everything all tidied up as well. Sash window replacement
We needed three sash windows replaced in our Georgian house and have been delighted with the work carried out by William Richards. From the first contact with Robin, followed by Kieran in the planning stage through to the fitters Ryan, Jack and Jordan the whole process was excellent. All staff were friendly, professional and capable and we will certainly use them again.

Large Victorian sash window restoration
"I have just had my huge Victorian sash windows refurbished and I could not be happier- the craftsmanship and finish is excellent in fact my decorator commented he had not come across so smooth and well repaired windows and they specialise in working on heritage buildings. Ricardo and Paul were completely charming and very professional great ambassadors for an excellent company who have done a wonderful job - I highly recommend this company."

What a wonderful company
What a wonderful company. From first contact with the lovely and informative Robin, then the amazing Kieran and then the wonderful Ricardo who has just fitted new windows in our bay window and 2 other rooms, we have been delighted. They are so professional, polite and have done such a good job we have booked them again to replace the sash windows in the rest of the property. Great workmanship
Just had 8 enormous Victorian sash windows replicated in Slim line double glazing by William Richards. Had 5 companies in (visiting 3 of their workshops) to discuss options & quote. Chose this small family business and so glad I did in every respect. Advice, Craftsmanship, workmanship, cost & dedication were faultless. When we had a hitch with locks it was sorted with good sense & best haste. So impressed on such a big job.

The company are very professional and did an excellent job
"The company are very professional and employ experts who have worked with sash windows for many years. The first surveyor came first to look at the window to see what was needed. the cord had broken and the window needed a complete renovation. He explained what William Richards could do to mend the window, balance it and draft proof it. Another engineer then came to measure it and make sure it was right. Then I was contacted and a time for the work to be done was booked in. The person who did the work came to the house, was very helpful and kind, worked hard all day and made a brilliant job of the window. I now can open the window, it has new fittings which look fantastic and it is quieter and warmer in the room. He put a new cord in the window and balanced it. I can lock the window too and it still has the original old glass. I like to keep the period features in the house, which was built in 1904. I don't want any UPVC in the house at all! I like the old windows. He also cleaned up the dust after he had finished the work. I am very pleased with the work which was done and can recommend William Richards. A worker rang to make sure everything was ok and that I was pleased with the work. The firm could not be more helpful, they really made an effort to do a good job and want their customers to be pleased with the work."

Complete Satisfaction
"Our three Victorian sash windows, and front door, at the front of our terraced house were in desperate need of replacement. The WRSW website persuaded us that this was the firm to contact. Robin, and then Kieran, made site visits and we were impressed by their friendly demeanours and their reassurance that the job could be completed successfully. Steve who installed the windows and door was genuinely committed to the work and demonstrated great skill in overcoming the difficulties posed by a 150 year old building. We are so pleased with the results. No more draughts and the constant hum of traffic noise from the main road no longer audible. The new double glazed sash windows and the neatly fitting front door are a delight to look at and have made the house warmer and cosier."

We have a Regency home in need of proper sash windows
"We have a Regency home in Cheltenham, when we bought it, it already had 5 aluminum framed, double glazed sash windows at the front, they were probably installed around 1986-ish, before the house was grade II listed. I asked WRSW to install proper wooden framed, double glazed replacement windows. I originally wanted 1 glass pane over 1 glass pane (as per neighbouring houses on either side) The listed building planning department advised that this wouldn't be permitted, and a 6 over 6 design would be the only sash approved. They also believed that the wooden framed glazing bars (to support the 6 panes, would need to be substantial in width in order to hold the double glazed 'lights' (glass panels). WRSW were extremely helpful in contacting the council directly and assuring them that the glazing bars were authentic in design, of the correct width and could still hold the double glazed lights. When the work took place, they send a craftsman named Ryan, Ryan spent around 8 days on site, he was extremely easy to have around, respectful and happy to work quietly and importantly, taking care to minimize dust. We can't recommend this firm highly enough, fantastic windows, great comms, lovely staff and beautiful windows at a very reasonable price."
